Community Outreach

2016-2017 Season

Northwest Harvest

December 17, 2016: Our team volunteered to help package food at North West Harvest again this year. Though not STEM related, this volunteer opportunity served as a great way for our team to come together and help the community while working on our team work and overall bonding together as a team.

Previous Years

Northwest Harvest

During the winter breaks of 2010 and 2011, members of Saints Robotics volunteered their time to Northwest Harvest to package pasta for the homeless. Northwest Harvest is a state-wide program that provides inexpensive and nutritious food to those too poor to buy food at conventional venues, supplying numerous food banks across the state. In order for them to provide food at such a low cost, they require the support of volunteers like us to help out in the process. In one day, we were able to package 7,200 pounds of pasta, which is equivalent to 2,057 meals. Our team has continued this tradition periodically until 2014, and have been happy to serve our community in a non-STEM related way. For more information, visit Northwest Harvest.
