The 2024-2025 season presented new challenges for our team. A bomb cyclone in mid-November resulted in power outages across the greater Seattle area, leading to the cancellation of the FLL scrimmage we were planning to host. To make up for this, we had the FLL teams provide videos of their work, which we judged and provided feedback on.
We stuck to our outreach goals, attending stem nights at several elementary schools. We also expanded our annual summer camp to include a winter session.
One of our highlights this year is our collaboration with the Pacific Program, a special education program for students with developmental disabilities. We co-hosted a food drive with them to support students struggling with housing or financial issues. Many of us volunteered at Day of Champs, a field day designated for special needs students across the school district.
Unfortunately, our competition season was somewhat short. However, we made the most of the two competitions we attended, one of which we were able to become an alliance captain. We continued our streak of winning the Team Sustainability Award, and one of our members was a District Championship Dean’s List Semi-Finalist! We ended this season looking forward to and ready to knock out the next!
